El Rito

The Route Canal

Slacker Ken 9
FA: Vaino Kodas, Tony Stout, 2007
This route climbs the left side of the arete that forms the left end of the Rad Wall. Start on a dirt shelf at the entrance to the Route Canal and angle right past the first bolt to reach the arete. 5 bolts.

Wall at upper end of Route CanalWall at upper end of Route Canal

This wall (call it The Basement?) at the upper end of the Route Canal can be a nice cool and shady place to climb when the rest of El Rito is baking.

Cellar Door 11a/b
FA: doni, Vaino Kodas, 2010
This route is on a face at the upper end of the route canal. It is the center route of the three routes on this face and roughly follows a black water streak. Expect pleasant pumpy pocket pulling with a perplexing penultimate move. 5 bolts.

Frank 10c
FA: Vaino Kodas, doni, 2010
Start about five feet right of Cellar Door. Angle up and right to a two bolt anchor on a very large cobble. 4 bolts.
